My first meeting with Lyn Turner was quite some years ago when I completed my Certificate 4 in Workplace Training and Assessment.
When ACFI was first introduced I attended an initial training session where we learnt the basics regarding ACFI, Lyn Turner facilitated this session.
Over the past couple of years Lyn has been expanding my knowledge and understanding of the ACFI system and helping me to ensure that we can not only maximize out claims but also more importantly, ensure that the quality and care of our residents is continually monitored and upgraded. This assistance has been very rewarding.
Lyn has proved to be a valuable resource when it comes to ACFI. Her education sessions are delivered in a way that the staff just “get it”, finally! Lyn has also worked with key staff and enabled them to identify where funding can be increased and assisted in the whole process. Lyn is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of Aged Care and her expertise is expansive. Lyn is passionate about Aged Care and her services are second to none, highly recommended!
To date Lyn has conducted ACFI reviews at eleven Queensland Health residential aged care facilities and following the exceptional feedback received, it is expected that other facilities will soon follow suit. Staff from all facilities report that not only has Lyn identified many opportunities for maximising revenue, Lyn has taken the time to provide additional education for all classifications of staff, both one on one and group sessions, Staff have commented that Lyn’s friendly and approachable communication style, and patience has enabled staff to have plenty of “light bulb” moments.

Lyn has been our consultant at Lions Haven for some years and her overall knowledge of the Aged Care Industry is one of outstanding value, Lyn’s approach to the Aged Care industry is one of passion and devotion and this enthusiasm becomes infectious amongst the staff.
Lyn has been proactive and instrumental in encouraging our staff to improve their skilis and has seen many of our staff work towards and be successful in achieving certificates in their chosen field. This has then become a domino effect with more staff wanting to improve their professional development opportunities.

Lyn’s approach to delivery of education, and her demeanour with staff is one of a very professional manner. Staff are very comfortable with Lyn and they are able to ask questions with the knowledge that no question is a silly one. We are very lucky in being able to have such a knowledgeable person to assist us in any area that we feel we need.
